“As we have returned this Fall to full time, in person learning with 780 students in the building, BEMS has experienced an increase in behaviors and office referrals.
Along with numerous tier 1 and 2 interventions, we wanted to identify and highlight when students are being CAUGHT….being GOOD.
So each Friday in their travels throughout the building, administration keeps an eye out for students doing the RIGHT thing. This could be helping another student, wearing their mask properly, reading quietly in the library, actively participating in class, etc.
They then receive a “You Have Been Caught” ticket with a small treat. This week was a snack of M & M’s. Students have started to catch on and it has brought some smiles and positive energy to our building. It is a small thing but small steps will get us back on track.”
