Maine’s Positive PRINCIPAL Story of the Day ~ Anita Wright, Principal of Piscataquis Community Elementary School in Guilford ~

In honor of National Principals’ Month, every day in October we are going to be honoring principals every day. Today we are celebrating Anita Wright. 

Anita Wright, principal at Piscataquis Community Elementary School for 10 years, Literacy Instructional Coach for 5 years in RSU 19, middle school teacher for 7 years at Warsaw Middle School, and high school teacher for a collective 14 years at Nokomis, Maine Central Institute, and Mt. View High School. 2023 National Distinguished Principal, speaker, presenter, college instructor, mentor, author, member of the Thomas College Advisory Board for the Center for Innovation in Education, past member of the Editorial Board for the Journal of Maine Education.

“My days are filled with learning from children, their families, community members and other educators. With them and for them, I create opportunities, give support, and dream. Together, we make magic. To be a principal means I have a chance to participate in bringing hope and changing futures. I am proud and fortunate to belong to this community.”
