Maine’s Positive PRINCIPAL Story of the Day ~ Jennifer McGee, Principal of Atwood Primary School in Oakland ~

In honor of National Principals’ Month, every day in October we are going to be honoring principals. Today we are celebrating Jennifer McGee.

Jennifer McGee is the principal of Atwood Primary School in Oakland, Maine.   She was a teacher for 14 years, and this is her 24th year as a school administrator. She also teaches for Thomas College as an adjunct professor and has co- taught Great Beginnings for the MPA for the past four years.  Jennifer was Maine’s National Distinguished Principal of the Year in 2017.  She currently serves on the MPA’s Board of Directors.
“The very best part of being a school principal is having a front row seat to watch teachers weave magic in their classrooms AND getting to see pure joy on the children’s faces as they learn and grow and thrive in their teacher’s care!”
