Maine’s Positive PRINCIPAL Story of the Day ~ Joel Hall, Ashland District School ~

In honor of National Principals’ Month, every day in October we are going to be honoring principals. Today we are honoring Joel Hall.

Joel Hall, High School Math/Physical Science teacher for eleven years, Asst. Principal/Athletic Director for five years, Principal for seven years and currently in the position of Superintendent/Principal for the last two all within Ashland District School (MSAD#32) in Ashland, ME. He was also the former President of the Aroostook Principals Association (2018-19) and he coached HS Boys Basketball, Golf, and Volleyball.

“The best part about being Principal is working with a team of professionals every day to make student lives better. Schools are about so much more than just learning to read, write and do arithmetic. Schools have become community centers, mental health providers, food providers and locations for entertainment and culture. I love being such a positive part of our school and our surrounding communities. It means a lot to give back to my community. I like going to work every day and making at least one student’s day a better day. Working with other Principals and school leaders across the County and State lets me know that there is a whole network of motivated individuals working together for the betterment of our students and communities.”
