** In Honor of National Principals’ Month **
Maine’s Positive PRINCIPAL Story of the Day ~ Marty Bouchard, Middle School of the Kennebunks ~
Hi, my name is Marty Bouchard and I am the principal at Middle School of the Kennebunks(MSK), a grades 6-8 school serving the towns of Kennebunk, Kennebunkport and Arundel. Prior to my time at MSK I served as the principal of Houlton Middle/High School for 14 years. I started my journey in education back in 1992 as an education technician in MSAD #70, where I also served as a coach, teacher, athletic administrator and assistant principal over a span of 12 years. I have served on numerous Maine Principals’ Association committees over the past 20 years including the Interscholastic Management, BCD Basketball, Maine Basketball Commission and the Legislative and Nominating Committees. In 2013 it was my honor to join the Maine Principal Association Board of Directors and served as their President-Elect in 2015 and President in 2016. I enjoy golfing, exercise and family trips.
Without a doubt the best part of being a principal is helping students and staff be the best they can be each and every day. The students inspire me on a daily basis and I cherish the relationships I have been able to create over the past 30 years in education. The staff I am privileged to work with each and every day are simply outstanding people, champions for our students and community.
