Maine’s Positive PRINCIPAL Story of the Day ~ Steve Bell, Principal of Dexter High School ~
In honor of National Principals’ Month, every day in October we are going to be honoring principals every day. Today we are celebrating Steve Bell.
He received my Bachelor and Master’s degrees from UMO. Steve taught History and Government at Leavitt High School and Piscataquis Community High School for seven years. He also coached Varsity Football, Basketball, Baseball and Softball during my teaching career. Asst. Principal / Athletic Director at Dexter Regional High School 1999-2006 before he became the principal. Steve has served as President of the PVC (Penobscot Valley Conference) and the President of the LTC (Little Ten Conference)
He has been a tremendous supporter of the MPA. Steve has been on the following committees: Student Council, Field Hockey, Wrestling, Classification, Officials fees, Interscholastic Management Committee and is currently on the Board of Directors.
“One of the best parts of being Principal is attending all of the extra curricular events that take place after school, throughout the year. No matter how difficult the day or week might be, the energy, passion and enthusiasm that you get from a high school game, event or competition is still the highlight of my week, month or year.”
