Maine’s Positive Story of the Day ~ Williams Elementary School in Oakland ~
Williams Elementary School had a fantastic first annual Fall Fab Five kick off event at Lemieux’s Apple Orchard. Students were able to navigate through a corn maze, pick apples to bring home to share with their families, hear two of the fall fab books read aloud by their classroom teachers, go on a wagon ride and participate in a tour of the orchard. We were so happy to have so many families join us. It was a warm and sunny day for our first field trip of the year. Our school community has had a blast reading Margaret’s Unicorn, Harlem Grown, Cesaria Feels the Beat, The Seed of Compassion and Lost and Found Cat: The True Story of Kunkush’s Incredible Journey. Students have voted for their fall favorite and the winner will be announced during a special assembly on Friday, 10/4. After the assembly the entire school will be participating in their district’s “Take a Hike” Challenge by going on a walk on the MMS/MHS Trail.
