Maine’s Positive Story of the Day ~ Islesboro Central School ~
Two weeks ago, there was a significant cold front that went through the state of Maine. At Islesboro Central School, a pipe burst, causing major damage in the school. We had to have the 8th through 12th graders learn remotely for a week and were able to use the town library and the community center to have in-person school for our kindergarten through 7th graders. The staff and students were flexible and maintained positive attitudes throughout the entire time. We are so grateful that the library and community center welcomed us so the students could still have school. The students seemed to enjoy being in a new environment. As one kindergarten student said, “…this is a really different school day. But I love it!”
