Maine’s Principal of the Day ~ MPA President-Elect Steve Bell, Principal of Dexter Regional High School ~
October is Principals’ Month and in honor of Maine’s exceptional principals, the “MPA Positive Story of the Day” will feature a Maine Principal every day. Today we are honoring Steve Bell, Principal of Dexter Regional High School.
Steve has been a high school administrator for 26 years, a high School History and Government Teacher for 8 years, an Asst. Principal and Athletic Director for 7 years and has been Principal of DRHS from 2006 to today. He has coached various sports including Football, Basketball, Baseball and Softball. Steve served as Student Council and class Advisor during his teaching years. He has served on various MPA committees, including Field Hockey, Wrestling, Student Council, Classification, Official fees and the Interscholastic Management Committee (chair). Steve has served as President of the PVC and LTC during my Athletic Director years and is currently serving on the Board of Directors for MPA.
According to Steve, “One of the best parts of being Principal is organizing, overseeing and carrying out the annual Graduation event. Sharing that special moment with students and families as they complete their journey or close that chapter in their life is still an incredible experience. It’s a tremendous time filled with smiles and tears of joy!”
