Maine’s Principal of the Day ~ Holly Wilson, Principal of Lake Region Middle School in Naples ~
October is Principals’ Month and in honor of Maine’s exceptional principals, the “MPA Positive Story of the Day” will feature a Maine Principal every day. Today we are honoring Holly Wilson, Principal of Lake Region Middle School in Naples.
Holly Wilson started her career in education as an ed tech in a Title 1 classroom. She was a school social studies teacher at Windham High School for 17 years. In 2019, she moved into administration as the assistant principal at Lake Region High School. In 2023, Holly was excited to become Principal of Lake Region Middle School. Her passion in education is in curriculum development. Outside of school she loves spending my time with my family as a Scouts BSA leader or cheering on her girls at the softball field.
“One of the best parts of being a principal is walking down the hallway and looking into the gym to see our Team Laker students practicing for the next unified basketball game. The energy, excitement, encouragement and fun brings tears to my eyes. Watching my students encourage, mentor and teach their classmates new skills reminds me why I love my job.” ~ Holly Wilson
